1972 Porsche 911 Magnus Walker STR02

Seller's description

1972 Porsche 911 STR2 restored and hot rodded by none other than the Urban Outlaw, Magnus Walker.
Magnus Walker doesn’t build cars for other people, and very rarely sells any of the Porsches in his collection. This is a very rare opportunity to buy his famous 1972 911 “STR 002” Outlaw 911.
Starting with a 1972 Porsche 911T, Magnus created one of the coolest tributes to the early long hood factory race cars, completing the build in January of 2013. To see the countless YouTube videos of the STR 002 is an experience, but to see it and hear it in person is just special. This car has been featured in Road & Track, Total 911, Jay Leno’s Garage, 5th Gear with Tiff Needell, Adam Carolla’s CarCast, and his own website magnuswalker911.blogspot.com.
The 1972 911T Magnus chose for this build was stripped to bare metal, and built back up with his iconic personal touches. Grafted-in tail lights, reworked sheet metal for the front turn signals, drilled door handles, and a louvered engine cover are just a handful of the choice upgrades and modifications that make the 911STR 002 so Urban Outlaw.
Using the best in period correct and modern components, Magnus chose a worked and short stroked 3.2 liter power plant for its torque and smooth power delivery. Magnus estimates 275 horsepower in a 2100 pound car! The restoration also includes a freshly rebuilt Porsche 915 transmission with limited slip, Tarret RSR front and rear sway bars, Elephant Racing quick change torsion bars, Turbo tie rod ends, Bilstien sport shocks, Turbo brakes, custom fit steel Turbo flares, Recaro seats, Group 4 PAG Rims, and of course Hoosier tires.
Magnus has documented and photographed the rebuild process on his web page, which truly shows the level of passion, craftsmanship, and attention to detail to bring “STR 002” from the run of the mill 1972 911T to one the Urban Outlaw’s best work.
